Macmillan Coffee Morning 2019

Huge success at the Macmillan coffee morning 2019. Year 11 from both Westfield and Beech hosted the event with hot drinks, cold drinks, tombola, guess the name of the teddy, penalty shoot out, fruit and cakes for sale. This was part of their BTEC Hospitality course developing real life skills.
Students made cakes over the last few days - Year 7 making melting in your mouth chocolate chip cookies following the hygiene rules, Year 8 made sticky flapjack applying heat, Year 9 showed off their skills making light and fluffy cakes and Victoria sandwich cakes, Year 11 made lollipop biscuits sticks coated in velvety chocolate. Post 16 were inclusive making gluten and dairy free viennese fingers and whirls demonstrating piping in a straight line.
The room was filled will love and community spirit coming together as a family. Students being independent selling and handling money, showing off their customer service skills.
We raised £250 for the Macmillan cancer support. Thank you so much to our visitors, students and staff for your incredible fundraising efforts again this year.
Magic moment Westfield students coming up to main site, to be in a hall full of people at a place some have never been too. Massive progress made for Owen Brown he came along with support from Jayne Coakley and took the money for the cakes, this is the first time in school career. We are so proud.

Thank you
