Post 16 at The Beech Academy

At Post 16 we challenge the students to continue to turn ‘I can’t into I can’, ensuring they become the very best that they can be.

The Post 16 curriculum is focused on ‘Preparation for Adulthood’. Students develop their independent living skills through a variety of qualifications in areas including English, Maths, Chemistry, Physical Education & Sports Leadership, ICT, PSHE, Home Cooking Skills, and AIM awards, which include a range of vocational areas of study. Independent Travel Training (TITAN) is also delivered to develop students’ knowledge and skills of traveling independently and safely in the future.

Our curriculum is designed to meet a wide range of individual needs, preparing students with the relevant knowledge and skills needed to move onto the next phase of their lives. All students are supported with access to provision outside of the Academy through our links with prospective employers, appropriate work experience placements and further educational establishments which enable a smooth transition to further study and/or training.
