Beech welcomed a variety of employers to the Academy today, who held taster sessions for pupils to access different career opportunities. Pupils learnt about the skills and qualities required for the career, alongside an understanding of the job tasks which would be carried out each day. Pupils had the opportunity to play basketball with professional player, make smoothies on a bike, create their own energy using a battery and magnets, act as a waiter in a hospitality setting and take photos using high tech cameras.
It was fantastic to see so many students engaged in the activities and talking about the sessions with enthusiasm and wanting to aspire to a career after talking to an employer.
We welcomed Lee English Sports Coaching, Pulp Friction Smoothies, The Police, County Battery, The Archer (landmarks) and JP Wedding Photography.
During the next 2 weeks, students will be visiting the Fire Brigade, welcoming Linney’s and Leeds United FC as part of their careers programme for this half-term.
