Adrian O’Malley

Headteacher

Adrian studied at Nottingham Trent and Loughborough Universities starting teaching at Brunts in 2003.  At Brunts he progressed through the roles of Assistant Curriculum Team, Director of Learning and the Assistant Headteacher, before becoming Head of School at Beech.  In his spare time Adrian enjoys spending time with his family, friends and taking part in outdoor sports.

Sarah Barrett

Director of Provision

Sarah studied at London and Loughborough Universities and started teaching in 1985. Sarah’s interest in SEND led to a move to Garibaldi College where she became SENCO and Assistant Headteacher, and was awarded a Master degree in 2006. Sarah is a member of many multiagency groups shaping provision for young people with SEND. In her spare time enjoys watching sport.

Joanna Thurston

Individual Needs Co-ordinator

Joanna studied BSc Sport Studies at Staffordshire University and completed a PGCE at Liverpool John Moores University. She taught PE, Geography and English in mainstream schools for 7 years then moved into Special Education and has taught at Beech for over 10 years. In her spare time she loves being with her family and friends and is a keen climber and runner.

Helen Snelling

English Leader

Helen completed her PGCE (Primary) at Nottingham Trent in 2005. Having taught KS2, Helen moved to secondary to teach KS3 students with special needs. Progressing to become Assistant Head and SENCO, Helen completed the post-graduate Certificate in Special Needs in 2011. Helen now leads and teaches English at Beech. She is an avid fan of Mansfield Town, afternoon tea and shoe shopping.
