Teaching is delivered by a variety of subject specialist staff in partnership with teaching assistants that are attached to teaching groups for all lessons across the school. In KS3 students follow a curriculum of English, Maths, Science, PE, Creative and Performing Arts, ICT, Humanities and Technology.
At KS4 students study qualifications in English, Maths, Science and a variety of other subjects.
In Post 16 English, Maths, ICT and PE are covered as the core with students developing other independent living skills through a variety of qualifications in areas such as Home Cooking Skills and AIMs awards.
All key stages will have planned visits offsite to enrich ‘in-school’ curriculum programmes with work experience placements offered where appropriate.
Each student will have access to quality careers guidance as well as developing skills for employment.
In delivering the curriculum great effort is made to ensure that all children can access the learning that is offered and that the range of activities meets the learning styles of the individual child with a specific focus being placed on developing children’s literacy skills.
The maps below give an overview of what is covered in each year. This is a guide and modification from this overview will occur depending on individual needs etc.
