Today in assembly, Miss Rogers received an award from Emma and Ben from Teaching Personell as part of their Teaching Assistant of the Year celebration. Miss Rogers joined Beech Academy 3 years ago after working at Brunts Academy, also a member of the Evolve Trust. In her nomination, Leah was praised for her ‘positive attitude and willingness to learn which go beyond her role. These have had a very positive impact on the lives of the pupils she supports. Leah has spent a lot of her personal time developing and adapting her skills to meet the needs of her pupils. ‘ Highlighting her dedication, the nomination goes on to say ‘Leah spends her break times in the tutor room which is within the main part of the school. While technically on her ‘free time’ she always has the room door open and is prepared to have pupils come and sit and talk to her about their worries and concerns.’
Miss Rogers predominantly works with our Year 10 class, but also leads literacy groups and lunchtime clubs for pupils in other year groups. Everyone is very proud of Miss Rogers and extremely grateful for everything she does at Beech Academy.
