At the Beech Academy, inclusivity is important to us because we are all different and have a variety of needs. We wanted to raise awareness of those people that have a genetic disorder and do something to help so we decided to take part in Genes for Jeans Day. As part of the day, students found out about some of the science surrounding genetics and the challenges faced by people who suffer from a genetic disorder (and those that are carriers of faulty genes for a genetic disorder). In addition to raising awareness, our students and staff donated a total of £62 for the Jeans for Genes day fund!
Thank you to everyone who donated or came into school wearing jeans.
