Refugee week at the Beech Academy

assembly 068

This week is Refugee Week.  Activities took place in a range of lessons to mark the plight of refugees around the world.  Students experienced activities such as having to clean water and carry it over long distances, they measured if they could outrun a natural disaster, made friendship biscuits and most importantly they talked about what they could do to help.  Students celebrated their experiences in a special assembly, joined by Yvonne Luce and Rob Rodgers from Global Education Derby who delivered some training to staff earlier in the year.
