Amanda was born and raised in Derbyshire, educated at the local comprehensive school before moving to the local sixth form college, where she studied engineering. She joined the Nottinghamshire Police in April 1987 and moved to Mansfield in August 1987.
Amanda has worked all over the county of Nottinghamshire. For the last 10 years she has worked with local Schools and the Youth Offending Service to prevent youth crime and to be responsible for dealing with young people as both victims and offenders. She retired from Nottinghamshire Police in May 2015 after completing 28 years of service.
Amanda retains a keen interest in the education of young people and still works part-time for the Life Skills education company delivering the D.A.R.E programme to local primary schools.
Amanda is looking forward to her role as School Governor. She believes every child deserves every opportunity to experience the best education possible and is committed to supporting the school, staff parents and pupils to achieve that goal.
